Seminars: Machine Learning and Internet of Things: The Future of Industry

The one-day national seminar, “Machine Learning and the Internet of Things: The Future of Industry,” aimed to provide a platform for students, researchers, and faculty members to immerse themselves in the world of machine learning and its applications in various industries. As machine learning has become an important tool in science and technology, this seminar examined its implementation and potential for further development. This seminar focused on how machine learning models can be used to analyze medical data to generate valuable insights and ultimately improve health outcomes and patient experience.

A Workshop on Awareness of Cyber Security & Its Applications

A 2-days workshop on Cyber Security and its Applications were organized jointly by the department of CSE (IoT, Cyber Security including BCT) and CSE (AI/ML) on July 24th and 25th, 2023 in Future Institute of Technology, Garia, Kolkata, West Bengal, 700154.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shibashis Ghosh, the Founder of ExaBee Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata. He is a tech graduate, & did his masters from the University of Calcutta. He was attached as a Researcher with IIT-Kanpur & ISI-Kolkata. He had taken several trainings for law enforcement personnel (Police Training Academy, CDTI, CID, SCRB, District level Cyber PS, Etc.) across West Bengal. His research area of interest includes Quantum Computing, Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Hacking & Digital Forensics. Total 19 students attended the workshop. The workshop consisted of total 8 sessions which are divided in the 2 days with 4 sessions each. The details of the sessions are as follows.
Session 1. Introduction to Modern Technology
Session 2. Type of Cyber Threats, Vulnerabilities & Attacks
Session 3. Cyber Security & The Cyber Eco Systems
Session 4. Practical Demos & Case Studies
Session 5. Web Technology Overview
Session 6. JS, Database, System Command etc.
Session 7. Web Technology related vulnerabilities
Session 8. Exploiting the Web App - XSS, SQLi, RCE, etc.
The students enjoyed the event, the hands on with the systems helped them to gathered knowledge on cyber security and the insights during the short span of time.
